Tata Motors, one of the most respected automobile companies in India, is known for offering cars with a traditional look and feel. Although the Tata cars are known for their quality and good performance, they lack inspiring looks. However, recently Tata decided to bring in freshness by introducing new and trendy designs in their car, so that they appeal to the buyers looking for a stylish car. Tata Zest, a compact sedan, became the first car from the maker to carry a contemporary design language and fresh looks. It was followed by Bolt, a hatchback, which too came with a refreshing look.
Priced between 4.86 to 8.07 lakh rupees, Tata Zest is an affordable car. Equipped with spacious interiors and pleasant features, this car has been able to generate the interest of the car buyers like never before. It has been wholeheartedly welcomed by the buyers, and hence, it has become one of the best sellers for Tata.
The most desirable features of the Tata Zest are its attractive exteriors, feature loaded interiors and its affordability. In spite of being the most economical car in the segment, Tata has not compromised on the equipments in any manner. This is obvious from the exterior as well as on the inside.
This stylish car is offered in both petrol and diesel variants. The buyer can choose from nine variants. Four variants are in petrol and five in diesel. An AMT version is also available in diesel. The petrol variant is powered by an indigenously developed all new Revotron 1.2T engine. An extremely quiet unit, it is the country’s first turbocharged MPFi (Multi-point Fuel Injection) engine. It is an 1193 cc, four-cylinder BSIV compliant unit, which can produce a top power of 88.7 bhp and a peak torque of 140 Nm. It is equipped with a five-speed manual transmission gearbox.
The diesel variant of the Zest runs on the tried and tested Fiat 1.3 MJD engine. It is available in two power options. The base model is powered by a low power engine of 73.9 bhp and 190 Nm torque. Other variants are powered by an 88.7 bhp motor with a torque of 200 Nm. All diesel variants, except the AMT variant, are offered with a traditional five-speed transmission gearbox.
The Zest is loaded with thirty best in class features in all. It has the most spacious interiors too. Zest is the first car from Tata to be rolled out of the factory in line with the latest DesigNext, DriveNext, and ConnectNext philosophy of the company.
A worthy rival to the likes of Honda Amaze and Maruti Swift DZire, the Tata Zest has had a memorable debut. It has the potential to be a best seller as well.
